Team Roster Guidelines

Team Roster Guidelines

In the event that a club enters 2 or more teams in the League then the following player transfer and registration guidelines shall apply to ensure that there is no “sharing of players” pursuant to Rule 6 (e).

1. The Club shall use the roster function on Comet to ensure that the teams are kept separate and players are not pooled.

2. Before a rostered team plays its first match of the season, the Club shall send to the League Secretary a team roster for each team. Only players entered on to a team’s roster shall play for that team.

3. In the event that a player wishes to transfer between teams in the club, the club shall notify the League Secretary of the transfer by email (providing the player’s name, date of birth and Comet Registration Number) no later than the working day prior to the player playing his first match for the new team. The club shall provide an up-to-date team roster for each team.

4. Upon the club’s junior players turning 16 during the season, they shall be eligible to play Youth football for one of the teams within the club. The player shall be allocated to a team roster and the club shall notify the League Secretary of the allocation by email (providing the player’s name, date of birth and Comet Registration Number) no later than the working day prior to the player playing his first youth match. The club shall provide an up-to-date team roster for each team.

5. Any player transferring to the club from another club or registering to the club for the first time, shall be allocated to a team on the roster system. The club shall notify the League Secretary of the transfer/registration by email (providing the player’s name, date of birth and Comet Registration Number) no later than the working day prior to the player playing his first youth match for the club. The club shall provide an up-to-date team roster for each team.

6. Players may transfer between the club’s youth teams on no more than two occasions during the season.

7. There shall be no transfers between youth teams after the date of the transfer/registration deadline set by the FAW in each season.

8. In the event that a player plays for a team for which he is not rostered, or notification is not provided in accordance with the guidelines above, then the player shall be deemed to be ineligible in accordance with Rules 6 (a) and 15 of the League Rules and Rules 5 (a) and 5(c) of the Cup Rules as appropriate.

NOTE: These rules shall not apply to friendlies. Team selection is at the discretion of the club entirely for friendly matches.
